Introduction：Handeliodendron Bodinieri is one of the Relict single species in the relict limestone area of China. Its habitats are special， natural regeneration is weakness and lack of resources. Because of human reasons， its living environment has been seriously damaged， which make it into the endangered status， so it is listed as the national key protected wild plants. Its ability to reproduce is poor in the natural state， the fragmentation of populations and reproductive and breeding ability recession may be the internal reasons lead to its endangered， so， explore the reason why it infertility and endangered mechanism is very significant to preserve its germplasm resources and expand its populations. Do the research work of its Flowering phenology flower gender， flower morphological characteristics， flowering dynamics， Pollen and pollen ovule ratio， the OCI and so on， in order to explore its biological characteristics， and then provide the basis for its protection and Utilization. Experiment results show that： 1. Handeliodendron Bodinieri bloom once a year. The flowering time is concentrated in late April to mid-May， the beginning and length of it is affected by the local weather. 2. Handeliodendron Bodinieri flower's gender is hermaphrodite in the structure， it has stamens and pistils. Stamens in female flowers is flat and can't produce pollen， so it can not fertility； pistils in male flowers is small， the ovules in it are small too； Hermaphrodite flowers only appear in the tree which open male flower， not much account， mixed in the male flowers， mostly in the normal development of flowering， the stamens and pistil developed good. 3. Handeliodendron Bodinieri male flower often opens two to three days till it flops， female and hermaphrodite flowers open two to three days too till their petals flop. 4. Handeliodendron Bodinieri male flower's Pollen viability between bud and first day is similar， decreased obviously in the second day. The stamens in female do not have pollen； hermaphrodite flowers' Pollen viability in the first day is lower than male's. Male flower's stigma can not be pollinated； female flower's Stigma receptivity from the bud stage to the second day of the flowering. 5. Handeliodendron Bodinieri each male flower has about 51461 Pollens， each female flower has about 5.75 ovules， pollen ovule ratio is 8949.7， according to Cruden's standard， its breeding system is obligate outcrossing type. 6. The OCI of Handeliodendron Bodinieri is 4.According to the Dafni standard， the species' breeding system is outcrossing， partly self-compatible and need pollinators.
